Faculty Overview

The Electrical Engineering College of Guizhou University was established in 1958, originally known as the Department of Electrical Machinery and the Department of Electromechanical Engineering of Guizhou Institute of Technology. It was renamed as the Electrical Engineering College of Guizhou Institute of Technology on October 20th, 2000, and again as the Electrical Engineering College of Guizhou University in August 2004. After more than fifty years of development, our college has become an important institution for educating high-level technical graduation and conducting scientific research for the electrical engineering industry, particularly in Guizhou Province.

 

The college currently has about 2,500 students, including nearly 2,000 undergraduates, approximately 500 master's students, and 9 doctoral students. The faculty consists of 82 members, including 76 full-time teachers, 15 professors, and 26 associate professors. Among the faculty, there is one member of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Steering Committee, one academic leader, three academic backbones, three outstanding young talents of Guizhou Province, and one high-level innovative talent of Guizhou Province (Top Talent).

 

The college has four undergraduate programs, including three national first-class discipline construction sites and one provincial first-class discipline construction site. The Electrical Engineering and Automation program is a national Excellence Engineer Education and Training Program discipline, a first batch national first-class discipline construction site, a first batch Guizhou Province First-Class Discipline, and a first batch Guizhou Province Demonstration Undergraduate Discipline. The Automation program is a national distinctive undergraduate discipline, a national first-class discipline construction site, and a Guizhou Province Excellence Engineer Education and Training Program discipline that has passed engineering education professional certification. The Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments program is a national first-class discipline construction site and a provincial first-class discipline construction site. The Energy and Power Engineering program is a provincial first-class discipline construction site.

 

The college has two first-level discipline master's programs, two first-level discipline professional master's programs, and one second-level discipline doctoral program. The Electrical Engineering discipline is one of the first batch of key disciplines in Guizhou Province and one of the first batch of distinctive key disciplines in Guizhou Province. The Control Science and Engineering discipline is a key discipline and a distinctive key discipline in Guizhou Province. The college has two provincial and ministerial-level research platforms and one provincial graduate workstation.

 

In recent years, the college has completed more than 100 research projects, including 22 National Natural Science Foundation projects and nearly 20 provincial and ministerial-level research projects. The faculty has published over 800 scientific papers, with more than 100 papers indexed by SCI, EI, and other databases. They have also published more than 30 monographs and textbooks. The college has received nearly 20 provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards.
